What a fixed fee should actually fix
A fixed fee is useful when the work behind it is defined. For an online architectural drawing service, ask for a written list of stages, deliverables and assumptions before comparing prices. “Plans for an extension” could mean an early layout, a planning submission package or detailed information for building control and contractor pricing. These are different jobs with different inputs.
The information needed to price drawings
Share the property address, a concise brief, photographs, any existing plans and the stage you need to reach. Explain whether there are existing extensions, changes in level, a loft stair or any known restrictions. A measured survey may be required to produce reliable drawings; an estate-agent plan or client measurement can be useful for an initial discussion without becoming verified construction information.

Ask how many options and revisions the quote includes, when a change of brief becomes additional work and who will prepare or submit an application.
Check exclusions before accepting
Council application charges, building control fees, a measured survey, structural calculations, drainage investigations and other specialist reports may be separate costs.
